You're doing the right thing by keeping your eye/hand moving. Start another painting, with a specific focus in mind. Color. Value (like I think you've been doing), something you think is funny. Maybe it will be good, maybe not. But trying to kick butt with the competition, when the competition is you, will only get you kicked in the butt!!
